Phase Four is a leading provider of advanced electric propulsion (EP) systems for small satellites. Founded in 2015, Phase Four set out to address the needs of new satellite constellations by developing a novel radio-frequency plasma thruster architecture. The company's RF Thruster offers a lower-cost, mass-manufacturable and propellant-flexible alternative to traditional Hall-effect thrusters, without sacrificing performance. Phase Four’s turn-key Maxwell plasma propulsion system achieved flight heritage in 2021 and is now utilized by commercial smallsat operators. The company is also developing the Valkyrie Hall-effect thruster (in partnership with Redwire) to serve missions from LEO to cislunar space, expanding its product lineup of high-performance, scalable satellite propulsion solutions.
