About
U-Space is a Toulouse-based small satellite manufacturer established in 2018 that designs and builds next-generation nanosatellites and microsatellites (up to 150 kg class). Originating as a CNES-supported project, U-Space combines NewSpace agility with traditional aerospace engineering to deliver reliable, high-performance satellite platforms for constellation operators and other clients. The company operates a 1000 m² production facility (called 'U-Zine') where it is scaling up assembly-line production of satellites, targeting a cadence of one satellite per week by 2027 to meet growing demand. U-Space has already developed and launched several satellites, including an in-orbit demonstrator and the first satellite fully designed, built, and operated by the company, and it has secured contracts to deliver more (for customers such as CNES and Safran). With around 80 employees and backing from both public and private investors (including France’s Definvest fund), U-Space is expanding its global reach while playing a key role in advancing France’s sovereign space capabilities through rapid satellite production.
