Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Space Kinetic Corp. has developed an electromechanical deployment mechanism that can rapidly eject small payloads (sensors, decoys, sub-satellites) from a host spacecraft without chemical propellant. Its patented kinetic launch system enables satellites to disperse multiple smaller payloads at high velocity, offering broad coverage for space situational awareness and missile defense missions. Originating from research at Los Alamos National Lab’s LEEP program, Space Kinetic completed a $12 million seed funding round in 2025. It is now working with defense contractors to integrate its technology into U.S. national security space platforms.
