Reaction Dynamics

Reaction Dynamics (RDX) is a Quebec-based launch company building hybrid-propulsion rockets that pair a solid fuel with a liquid oxidizer to simplify engines and improve safety. Its Aurora-8 small-orbital launcher targets payloads under ~200 kg, with recent engine qualification milestones and a multi-launch commercial contract indicating near-term readiness. In August 2025 RDX signed a pathfinder agreement with Maritime Launch Services to conduct Canada’s first domestic orbital launch from Spaceport Nova Scotia around 2028, while its Aurora-1 suborbital vehicle is slated to fly earlier as part of a step-wise test campaign. The company raised a CAD $14 M Series A in 2025 to accelerate development and production.
